Nellie’s Dryer Balls Reviews
Tried these at my sister’s and they worked great. So, I bought 2 sets of dryerballs. I use both sets for larger items but you only need one set for most clothing. Seems to be a bit more staticky than with a dryer sheet but the trade-off for not using any chemicals is worth it.
Who knew something this simple could make such a difference? I don’t like using fabric softener on my towels because then they’re not as absorbent, but they always seemed to come out a little scratchy from the dryer. Since I started using these, I don’t have that problem anymore. Also, the rest of my clothes don’t fall into a pile of wrinkles if I don’t get them out of the dryer right away. Now if only I could find them when they’re hiding in the sheets I just took out of the dryer.
A friend gave me a pair of these dryer balls about a year ago, and they worked really well. I have been very pleased with their performance. I sometimes miss the fresh scent of the dryer sheets, but I certainly do not miss the cost, and I do not miss the thought of more chemicals on my clothes and skin. The only criticism I have of these balls is that they do nothing to combat static - items with spandex or nylon in them are the worst.
I took a load out of the dryer about a week ago, and one of the balls was split open. I think it is probably normal wear and tear - I have used the heck out of them. I am going to order some more.
