Five years ago, I got a “Golden Retriever” reacher from Walgreens and loved it! I am paralyzed and in a wheelchair and a reacher is one of my best friends. However, the last year, I have been buying the Medline reacher, also from Walgreens. The tips, rubber grippers, and plastic are inferior to the “Golden.” However, I have tried other brands since the lower quality, and nothing seems to be as good a value.

Although it is guaranteed for a year, it is more trouble and expense to return than just buying another one. I will probably buy another Medline soon. Wish it was square barrel so it wouldn’t roll off my lap.

This is a quality and easy to use tool. It is much better than the trigger types. It is easier to use for those with arthritis or weakness in their hands. I have given 4 of them as gifts to people with bad backs or were confined to bed. It has been a much appreciated gift; giving them back some independence. I wouldn’t pick up really heavy items with it because you may tear off the rubber tips that help grip the item.

I bought this for my mom because she had surgery and cannot bend easily to pick things up. Let me tell you that this thing works great. It really does pick up the littlest things like rubberbands and paper clips and it has a long reach that enables you to grab things from a top shelf. It has an easy to control handle that really does not take a lot of muscle strength to use. I highly recommend it.

This product works like a charm. It is also very well-made and durable in appearance. I am very excited about it. I think reducing the number of times you bend over helps avoid back episodes as mine always occur bending and lifting something silly like a shoe. It is also useful in getting things from tough places. The handle is not difficult to use at all. Good purchase at a good price!
