I have long fine hair, pretty much the long “Rachel” (Jennifer Aniston style when she was on friends). I use these as my sole set of rollers and I travel a lot so I stick them in the bottom shelf of my 26″ suitcase and I have no problem. They are at least 6 to 7 years old and they still work great. The lid did crack a long time ago then eventually broke off completely. Guess what, they still work fine! I am looking to buy another set just for home so I can leave the old set in my luggage always. I have owned dozens of hairsetters before this one and this is my very favorite.

I think they are ideal for someone with longer hair because you NEED the jumbo size. I just put 3 to 4 rollers on the top of my head and that is all I need.

The jumbo rollers are a great size for adding soft curls and volume. The set heats very quickly so it’s also easy to reheat the curlers, if 5 rollers aren’t enough. The ends don’t get abnormally hot (as cited for other sets). The unit also cools very quickly, which is great for last minute packing. The only two points that kept this from being a 5-star rating are: 1. the size is rather bulky. It would have been more convenient if the unit was smaller and with the 5 rollers in a row. To keep the lid from flying open in my suitcase, I secure the unit with a large rubber band and then put it in a large ziplock bag. (The bag protects my clothes in case the lid shatters.) 2. The unit has a well for wire clips but doesn’t include any. Instead, the unit comes with large plastic claw-style clips that don’t fit inside the unit and take up a fair amount of room. If you prefer wire clips, be sure to save the paperwork in the box. The paperwork includes an order form for the wire clips, which are very difficult to find online or in stores. However, after ordering, I received a letter that they are currently out of stock and to call in another month for a status. All in all, I’m happy with this purchase; and it’s much easier than traveling with my full set of 12 jumbo rollers.

I’ve used these rollers for years with great results on my long to medium length hair, and just finally getting my second set. The originals are still working but the velvet is wearing thin and I was afraid they wouldn’t still be available when I finally did need them. The one thing I don’t like about them is the bulkiness of the clips when traveling.

I rarely use rollers, but needed something to take with me when I travel. These work wonderfully, and take up very little space in my luggage. Amazon always has the very best prices on everything!
