Black and Decker VF20 Double Action DustBuster Filter Set Reviews
Replacement filter for all “V” series DustBusters. I haven’t used any of these replacement filter sets yet because the one that came with the handvac still functions well; however, the replacement filters I ordered from Amazon.com were much less expensive than ordering from Black and Decker and by ordering 4 sets, I did not have to pay postage and got the fourth one free! Additionally, the order was received within a week from the date the order was placed.
It should be noted that this filter set also works with the 18v B&D FireStorm handvac (and presumably the silver version I saw on the shelves of WalMart a while back). After my last project clogged its filter with gypsum dust, this brought it right back to life.
I’ve had Dustbusters in my life for 15 years - but have only had to buy two of them. Like a car, so long as you take care of it (keep it charged, use periodicially, change the filter) this handy little device will last a long, long time. Obviously it’s perfect for quick touch-ups when you don’t want to break out the vacuum. But this review isn’t merely for the B&D Dustbuster - this filter deal (4 for 3) is SUPER because they’re hard to find in stores, and with Amazon, you just can’t beat Super-Saver shipping!! TIP: Make your filters last. You don’t have to change them out everytime. In between changes I place my filter in a plastic shopping bag and clean out the ridges with a cotton swab.
The filter makes me happy because it keeps my office from becoming dusty. Since this is the only filter you can buy for this product, it doesn’t make sense for me to try to promote it or compare it, as you have no choice. However, compared to other similar kinds of products, this seems to do very well. No dust flying out the side of the unit, easy cleanup, easy installation and removal. Just twist it into place, and voila.
This is the exact replacement air filter (and bracket) for the older Dust Buster models (check listing to make sure your model is listed). If your Dust Buster is slow, loses it’s charge quickly and doesn’t seem to work right, it might be that the filter is clogged, like mine was. This seems to have fixed the problem.
